Jesse Orellana, Research Assistant
As a Research Assistant Jesse Orellana provides background research for selected Marga projects focused on racial equity and aids in the creation of publications. Jesse has a background in a variety of sectors, but is consistently investigating unique insights to stimulate discussion with his peers. As a Public Relations & Marketing intern at the Borgen Project, he lobbied local congressional leaders and politicians and presented on three policies, including the Keeping Girls in School Act, He has also been involved in efforts to raise funds on his college campus for these global issues. Additionally, Jesse conducted empirical research on NYC’s controversial specialized high school during his final capstone project, examining the system’s inequities as experienced for students.
Jesse is a first-generation graduate from Brooklyn, with a BA in Economics and Spanish from Lafayette College.
