How To Become A REPG Member

To join REPG's core group of members, foundations contribute annual dues.  Dues cover a twelve month period starting from the moment of payment.  REPG does not have an official dues amount.  We request at least an amount that would constitute a small grant for the foundation.  Dues support the involvement of core foundation members in REPG's central community of practice.  They are also investments in efforts to promote policies and practices that lead to a more racially equitable and generally equitable and inclusive field of philanthropy.  In this regard, REPG engages in various activities to influence the field, including the development and distribution of tools and publications, partnerships with various philanthropy serving organizations, and learning exchanges with foundations beyond the core membership.

Core members meet in intensive learning exchanges via Zoom during the spring and fall.  These foundations participate in REPG in teams.  Since REPG focuses on the whole foundation (policies and practices relevant to numerous divisions across program and administration), each foundation in REPG's core membership participates in teams and identifies specific staff members who will attend the meetings.  Core members also participate in thematic Task Forces throughout the year.  Core members may be asked to serve as guest speakers to share their experiences in REPG panel presentations or learning exchanges with other groups of foundations beyond the core membership.  REPG's learning exchange model is designed to leverage the sharing of practical experiences in a community of practice in order to influence institutional change in foundations.  As this learning is directly beneficial to the foundations participating in these exchanges, the ideas and lessons that emerge from these discussions should be shared with the broader philanthropic field.  Therefore, dialogue among REPG's core members demonstrate elements of a think tank.
