Foundations and other philanthropic entities have been focal points throughout Marga Incorporated’s development. Foundations, individual philanthropists, groups of venture philanthropists, and others are all beginning to think more strategically about the impact that they can stimulate through their funding.
The level of effectiveness of such philanthropic pursuits can be enhanced by an outside, knowledgeable eye. In order to create philanthropy that has an impact and truly leads to change, it is important to understand the environment and approaches that have shown promise in other settings – “promising practices”.
Also philanthropists don’t always know the full range of potential grantees that could fulfill the ideas they wish to pursue.
